The National Association of Corporate Directors is a longstanding membership organization established in 1977 dedicated to serving the corporate governance needs of directors and boards.  Among other activities, the Association manages a Director’s Registry for its members, matching executives with the qualifications and experiences sought by corporate boards for available positions.

Boardroom Bound

Boardroom Bound is a US member organization committed to the promotion of good governance and diversity in the boardrooms of public and private corporations, with a particular focus on women. Created in early 2000, the organization focuses on establishing a pipeline of first-time, diverse board directors through ongoing meetings, a national candidate database/ referral service and a training program through its Boardology© Institute.

Women Corporate Directors

Women Corporate Directors is a community of Women Corporate Directors with a national representation in the United States and local chapters on other continents. Established in 2000, members are existing corporate directors, collectively serving on over 500 corporate boards. The organization is committed to identifying critical issues facing corporate boards in general and women board members in particular through an ongoing series of meetings and conferences. Through its chapter heads, the organization runs a board training program, OnBoard Bootcamp.

Catalyst

Catalyst is a non-profit research and advisory organization founded in 1962 dedicated to working with businesses and professions to build inclusive environments and expand opportunities for women at work. Combined with other services, Catalyst assists corporations in recruitment women board directors when requested. They also undertake a variety of surveys including a long-standing annual census of women board of directors of the Fortune 500.

Directors’ Council

The Directors’ Council is a recently created private company established in 2003 by a small group of highly experienced and prominent businesswomen to provide search and recruitment services for corporate boards. The Council aims to meet the needs of corporate boards for increased independence, effectiveness and diversity by focusing on recruitment of female and minority candidates.

Board of Directors Resource Committee – Financial Women’s Association

The Financial Women’s Association is a membership organization established in 1956 that advances professionalism in the field of finance, with special emphasis on the role of women and the development of future leaders. Its’ Board of Directors’ Resource Committee focuses, among others, on providing qualified members to corporate boards for available positions.

Women on Boards’ Committee - The International Alliance for Women

The International Alliance for Women (TIAW) was founded in 1980 and acts as a key global umbrella organization for professional women and their associations. Its mission is to encourage, develop, fund and implement programs that foster economic empowerment and advancement for women around the world.   The organization’s Women on Boards’ Committee encourages the appointment of women to corporate and non-profit boards.

ION- InterOrganization Network

The InterOrganization Network (ION) is a non-profit research and advisory organization that consists of regional organizations in the United States that advocate increasing the number of women on corporate boards and in executive positions. Current membership includes The Boston Club, The Chicago Network, The Forum of Executive Women in Philadelphia, The Board of Directors Network in Atlanta, The Women Inc. and Women’s Leadership Forum in Detroit and in Milwaukee and Women Executive Leadership in Fort Lauderdale.  In addition to these groups’ publishing annual census reports on the status of women directors in their respective geographic areas, the organization confidentially collaborates with corporations and other key influencers of the director selection process to identify women candidates for board of directors’ positions.
